Prime Minister Bill English is skipping question time in Parliament tomorrow to watch his son play rugby.
Xavier, his youngest son, is captaining St Pat’s Town against Silverstream first XV.
Mr English once played for Silverstream first XV.
“Sometimes as a parent you have to make decisions that are a trade-off against different obligations,” Mr English said.
“I’ve made the decision in this case and there’s a good reason for it.”
Deputy Prime Minister Paula Bennett will have to field any questions for Mr English.
In 2012 Mr English’s predecessor, Sir John Key, went to the United States to watch his son Max play baseball.NZN
