A tramper who fell during a walk near Raglan on Waikato’s west coast has been rescued by helicopter after spending nearly two nights in the open.
The 40-year-old man was reported overdue from the Te Toto Gorge track on Sunday and searchers on foot were unable to find him yesterday.
Crew from the Waikato Westpac rescue helicopter found the man just after midnight today. He was treated for hypothermia and cuts before being flown to Waikato Hospital. NZN
