Canterbury police seized 114 bags of synthetic cannabis yesterday, after carrying out five search warrants across Christchurch.
Two women and three men have been charged with possession of synthetic cannabis for supply. The bags seized had a total street value of $2300.
The Christchurch arrests come one day after Auckland police seized about 3kg of synthetic cannabis and arrested four people during a series of raids, amid fears the drug may be linked to the deaths of eight people last month.
Tuesday’s raids on five Auckland properties targeted places where the drug was being manufactured, with methamphetamine, cannabis, six firearms and a quantity of cash also seized, police say. NZN
