Old riding festival celebration

Scottish riders make their way into Selkirk, as they take part in the town’s Common Riding one of the oldest Borders festivals. The event dating from the Battle of Flodden in 1513, remembers the story of Flodden, when Selkirk sent 80 men with the Scottish King one returned, bearing a blood stained English flag.
