Pike Remembrance league fundraiser

A Pike 29 Remembrance rugby league fundraising match between a West Coast Green and Canterbury Blue side will be played at Jellyman Park, Cobden, tomorrow at 2.30 pm.
Premier players from Canterbury and the West Coast will take the field wearing the Newcastle Knights NRL strip and the South Sydney colours respectively.
Organiser Dean Rockhouse has urged people to come along and support.
“Come on down, enjoy a good game of footy and support both teams as we remember our 29 men sadly taken in the Pike River mining disaster.
“Join us in a minute’s silence at the refs whistle when all the players line up.”
There will be a sausage sizzle
and yellow ribbon car stickers which can be purchased at Jellyman Park, and the Pike 29 Remembrance jerseys will be on display to view and order, with all proceeds to go towards the recovery fund.
