At 10am on Sat 24th November, Greymouth celebrations begin outside the library with the planting of a Kate Sheppard camellia by the two local secondary school head girls. An organised march in period clothing, or in suffragette colours of purple white and green, will then proceed from Albert Street up Mackay Street footpath, crossing into Tainui Street and the new town square. Speeches and the re enactment of the 1893 Election Day race to the Polling Booth, will be followed by awarding of prizes for best dressed marchers and a large group Suffrage 125 photograph.
