Old faithful farewelled

After 47 years serving the Greymouth port, the old tug and pilot boat the William Steer sailed across the bar for the last time yesterday, headed to its new home in Napier. It was built for the Greymouth Harbour Board and launched on October 5, 1963. Port supervisor Ian Haussmann said the William Steer had served the port well, and it was “sad to see her go”.
