Aerodrome security beefed up

A new and more secure fence is going up around the Greymouth aerodrome in attempts to curb vandalism. Westroads contractors were today pouring concrete along the newly constructed footpath in Raleigh Street, bordering the aerodrome. Grey District Mayor Tony Kokshoorn said: “We’ve had a lot of vandalism down there and the fence will enhance and secure the area.” The construction was funded in last year’s council budget.
