Caltex goes to Challenge
Greymouth and Hokitika Caltex service stations are about to undertake a new name and look, with a change of ownership to CRT Fuels under the Challenge banner.
Chevron NZ public affairs manager Sharon Buckland said Chevron, which trades as Caltex, had sold the West Coast businesses to CRT Fuels, which was one of its preferred suppliers.
“They will be re-branding as Challenge but will still be using our fuels,” she said.
CRT Fuels officially took over the service stations on July 22 and will roll out the re-branding from August 1.
All staff had been retained, 15 employees at both service stations.
A spokesman said the company intended providing a full service model within both stations, with a focus on bringing “service” back into service stations.
