Teen admitted with alcohol poisoning

A 15-year-old Greymouth boy who had apparently drunk a bottle of whisky was admitted to hospital at the weekend with alcohol poisoning. Police youth aid officer constable Rose Green was left scratching her head when she was made aware of the incident. “There are lots of questions that need to be answered about this — where did he get the alcohol from, did he pinch it, or was it supplied to him?” She also questioned why someone so young would even attempt to drink a whole bottle of whisky. “It was a crazy thing to do — drinking at 15 is illegal in the first place — but a whole bottle of spirits — what was he thinking?”
