Morgan advances as royals watch

Former Greymouth boxer Bowyn Morgan has made it into the quarter-finals in the welterweight division at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
This morning, the former Kokiri meatworks worker beat Botswana’s Mmusi Tswiige in a 2-1 split decision to win his second fight.
The boxer had plenty of support at his bout including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, who arrived at the boxing venue just in time to see Morgan win.
He joins fellow New Zealand boxers David Nyika (light heavyweight), David Light (heavyweight), Chad Milnes (lightweight) and Leroy Hindley (light welterweight) in the quarter-finals.
Greymouth squash player Paul Coll is expected to be in action in the doubles about 4am tomorrow (NZ time). The Greymouth Star understands this match will be televised live.
