Hokitika's 'bucket list'

Westland High School art teacher Rebecca Busch and students Louie Neale and Mandy Jo Fife draft a new interactive public art project, which will be popping up somewhere around Hokitika next month.
Before I Die is a worldwide art initiative that encourages people to contribute the things they want to achieve before they shuffle off their mortal coil. Ms Busch said they were still negotiating with the council for a temporary venue in Hokitika. The council allocated $850 to the project through the Creative Community grant scheme earlier this year. The Before I Die ‘bucket list’ will be included on the global website, alongside others in Sydney, Paris and Germany. When it is completed the blackboard mural will hopefully be gifted to a local art group for display.
