Coll wins again

Greymouth international squash player Paul Coll has taken a couple of wins in his doubles and mixed doubles squash matches this morning at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Teamed up with Lance Beddoes, the pair opened with a tough loss to Australian sixth seeds Ryan Cuskelly and Matt Karwalski before beating a pair from the Norfolk Islands. They now need to beat their Sri Lankan opponents tomorrow to secure second position in their pool and progress to the next round.
Both New Zealand mixed doubles pairings were untroubled in their opening matches.
Joelle King and Martin Knight had a walkover victory, and Amanda Landers-Murphy and Coll cruised to victory over Papua New Guinean opponents.
The women’s doubles pairing of King and Landers-Murphy were untroubled in beating Papua New Guinean combination Dorothy Boyce and Sheila Morove. New Zealanders Megan Craig and Kylie Lindsay were denied the upset against Malaysian fourth seeds Nicol David and Low Wee Wern.
The No 1 New Zealand men’s doubles pairing of Campbell Grayson and Martin Knight had a walkover in their first match, then easily accounted for Bermuda pair Micah Franklin and Nicholas Kyme, guaranteeing them a top placing in their pool.
