Coast teen wins third Canty title

Greymouth skateboarder Cade Wilson-Russ, 16, has won the Cheapskates Canterbury Regionals.
It was his third consecutive win in the past three years for this competition, retaining his skating status.
Only first and second placegetters gain automatic qualification into the New Zealand nationals, which will be held as a three-day event at Washington Way, in Christchurch, over Labour Weekend.
However, it was announced at the competition on Saturday that the Christchurch City Council had approved funding of $3 million to the rebuild and upgrade of the Washington Way Skatepark and contractors were to move in today to start work.
Skaters now have a wait for the decision to be made by either Cheapskates Auckland or Wellington to host the national event.
